Local Matters is a not-for-profit based in Central Ohio working to create a healthy community through the lens of local food! We do this by working to build awareness in the community through our one-of-a-kind programming, which was developed to promote healthy food education, increase access to wholesome, delicious food, support family farmers and advocate for fair food policies.

Increasing Access to wholesome, delicious food.
These strategic programs focus on putting the right neighborhood players together to make sure all communities have access to locally grown food, whether that’s coming up with a plan to grow local food closer, helping the community identify it’s own local food resources or taking around town our Veggie Van filled with seasonal items. Growing the Supply of local food and Advocating fair food policies.
Food plays a large role in sustaining our local economy. To help support our region’s agriculture system, we work to create market opportunities for local farmers, improve distribution channels so locally grown food can be available to all communities equally and educate people on the economic benefits of supporting our local food system. We’ve also collaborated and combined community resources to create Fresh Connect, a comprehensive, online directory of where to find locally sustainably grown food. Get the guide>>
